    Wishlist

    Im looking to:
I have funds to invest in an eco-development

    I require:

    Which Suburb:

    Household

Tell us about your household. Who lives with you or may need to in the future? Would you like to work from home? Are you a greenfinger and need lots of garden, or do you just want a place you can lock up and go, when the travel-bug bites?

To be able to run my business from home
Flexibility to accommodate an extended family
    Minimal outdoor area.

    Infrastructure

What infrastructure and community services would support your lifestyle?

A car-port or parking space (I still plan to own a car)
Bike storage & good public transport access
Organic convenience store within walking distance
Shared safe play area for children
To buy Greenpower (either included in rent or from Eco Land)
Free wireless broadband and "neighbourhood network"(intercom)

    Self-sufficiency

We believe buildings should really work, and provide most, if not all, of their occupant's basic needs for food, water and energy. How self-sufficient would you like to be?

    Energy and water-saving fittings
My building to generate its own power
My building to collect its own water

    Ownership

We think more services need to be provided to homeowners by developers - let us know what you think by checking the things you'd like to own, share or hire.

To buy a package of energy-efficient whitegoods
To rent my whitegoods from EcoLand
A communal shed with hire tools and outdoor equipment
    Use of a shared car

    Public/Private space

Family units are changing and more and more people are using a collective approach to pooling their resources to share homes and living space. You might not be an 'eco-community' type (in the 70's sense) but there are endless options to explore for a mix of private/public space with you housemates or neighbors. This is where the fun starts for us! Tell us what areas of your 'space' you'd consider sharing with others.

    Shared kitchen facilities
    Shared laundry facilities
    Shared bathroom facilities

    Im happy to

We want to get an idea of what level of personal responsibility people want to take in their lives, in order to live more sustainably. Most of these actions don't require a whole lifestyle makeover - they are easy to do, and often have many other benefits as a side effect!

Compost my kitchen scraps in a communal garden
    Recycle
Watch my energy and water use
Use my laptop (free voip provided) or mobile phone for calls
Use natural cleaning and personal products
Volunteer a few hours here and there in a shared veggie garden
Pay small hire fees for things like BBQ's, power tools and garden equipment, rather than buying my own

Ecoland WishList

  • Your 'Wishlist' helps us build a picture of what type of homes and communities Australians want the building industry to be creating.

As this online survey grows it will help us lobby for changes on your behalf. It will also allow us to start building the living spaces that respond to your needs, now and in the future, and help protect against outside global influences of water scarcity, energy uncertainty, interest rate fluctuations, etc.

We will keep you up to date via our newsletter and Ecoland events, and together we will create our future communities. So share your ideas for a dream home and let us know anything else you'd like to see added to the Wishlist. We're listening.
